The FGM are actually used in various fields such as medicine, civil engineering, aeronautic and aerospace.
By dividing the transverse displacement into bending, shear and thickness stretching parts, the number of unknowns and governing equations was reduced, significantly facilitating the engineering analysis especially for predicting simply the bending and the free vibration response of FG plates.

Due to the lack of experience in constructing and operating special-purpose underground workings, theoretical studies were conducted to determine their structural parameters and to provide mining and technical justification for innovative engineering solutions for their effective equipment.
This innovative engineering solution was further developed in theoretical studies by their successors.
Such technical solutions are commonly used in international practice for constructing special-purpose underground chambers and in tunnel engineering [21].
In international practice of integrated mineral deposit development, large cross-section underground chambers are commonly used for: – industrial purposes (primary ore crushing chambers, wagon tipplers); – storage (gas, petroleum products, and industrial waste repositories); – agro-industrial use (vegetable storage, refrigeration units); – special applications (defense facilities and civil protection structures).
