Within Engineering, Civil Engineering comprised the largest portion (~65%) suggesting the material is most relevant to sustainable building/infrastructure development.
Structural Engineering is approximately 18% of engineering-related publications, primarily focused on mechanical behavior, strength and durability.
Environmental Engineering (~10%) related to life cycle analysis and ecological performance of the material, with the rest of the total made up of examples of Mechanical Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering, with a focus on rheology, flow behavior and soil-structure interaction.
This regulatory vacuum creates uncertainty for architects, engineers, and builders interested in adopting SCEC on-site.

Notes on the Poster “Map of Natural Stones from Sardinia (Italy)” Nicola Careddu1,a*, Massimo Scanu2,b and Paolo Desogus3,c 1Civil, Environmental Engineering and Architecture Dept.
Although it is not expect any (immediate) financial advantage following the publication of the poster, it has been welcome by many: it has increased awareness of the natural stone resources of Sardinia, and has raised interest in the island’s natural resources amongst authoritative specialists and civil society alike.
