Abstract: Olympic torches are the fantastic combination of successful design, appropriate materials and optimum processing which are the basic concept concepts in the major of Materials science and engineering.
The Olympic torch is a hand-held torch, which is the carrier approved by the International Olympic Committee to pass the Olympic flame from Olympia in Greece to the host city of the Olympic Stadium, and the significant legacy of the Olympic Movement (refer with: Fig. 1).
The International Olympic Committee has always attached great importance to the design, material selection and processing of the Olympic torches and each appearance of Summer Olympic torch becomes the focus of the entire world.
For example, turbine blades (refer with: Fig. 3) used in jet engines usually consist of the matrix material, the metal coating material and the thermal barrier ceramic coating.
