The jet speed estimated from the shock inclination angle differs from that obtained from the video images.
The similarity between glycerin and alcohol jets may be because their latent heats are quite equal, these being 974 kJ/kg and 896 kJ/kg, respectively.

Maximum temperature,
Tm, was varied from 882 to 896 ℃ for 0.5 h, and cooling rates of Rc1, Rc2 and Rc3 were 20 ℃/h,
10 ℃/h and 120 ℃/h, respectively, and annealing process of Ta which allows the completion of
second phases consumption was performed at 835 ℃ for 36 h.

From equation (1), it is indicated that CaCO3 can be completely decomposed at 896℃ under the condition that CO2 partial pressure is 1atm, which can be simplified as =1atm.
But in converter furnace, the temperature at which CaCO3, which is located between hot metal and liquid slag, can be completely decomposed is possibly lower than 896℃, because CO2 produced from the decomposition of limestone can be immediately participated in oxidizing reaction or emission, which lead to CO2 partial pressure lower than 1atm, which is < 1atm.
