Electrohydrodynamic routes are relatively new for processing advanced materials and in this paper we use electrospinning to prepare zirconia fibres diameter down to 200nm and hydroxyapatite (HA) fibres down to 1µm.
Experimental Details (1) Materials PEO (molecular weight 2,000,000): PEG (molecular weight 8000) (1:2 weight ratio) was dissolved in a water-THF (Sigma-Aldrich) solution (10:1 by volume) using magnetic stirring over 24 hours.

In recent years, ultraprecision grinding was researched as a new method used for hard and brittle materials, and the key here is how to realize material removing mostly by ultra-micro cutting and ductile shearing action.
Consequently, for ultraprecision grinding of hard and brittle materials, it’s difficult to identify material removal modes and define surface generating mechanism.
Plastic shearing mechanism of hard and brittle materials in ultraprecision grinding In 1987, a notable hypothesis was putted forward by American scholar T.G.

It is well known that materials of higher strength that are used for lightweight design, such as high alloyed steels and aluminium alloys, frequently show a degraded forming behavior associated to a lower ductility.
Experimental results Materials properties, after the bulk and local (laser) heat treatments, were evaluated by microhardness measurements.
