Materials used.
The proportion of different materials in fermentation of EM active calcium was presented in Table 1.
The materials for EM active calcium production were fermented by thermostatic shaking (QHZ-98A) under the condition of 37°C and 150r/min.

Recently, a novel metallurgical process for production of TiO2 has been developed by the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science [5].
Reference to the above process, a hydrometallurgical pretreatment process of titanium slag was carried out in order to selectively remove silicon and improve the quality of raw materials for the production of titanium dioxide pigment.
Experimental section Materials characterization The titanium slag used in this work was bought from Australia.
