This paper is focussed on the development of microstructure during liquid phase sintering and post-densification crystallisation heat treatment of ceramic materials based on the α- and β-Si3N4 structures.
The chemistry and the volume fraction of the liquid is determined by the choice of additives and the temperature / time programme during sintering.
This may be achieved through the formation of α- and β-sialons which are solid solutions based on the hexagonal α- and β-Si3N4 structures [12].
In addition, the ・- and β-sialon structures allow the development of self-reinforced, duplex, microstructures consisting of fibrous β'-Si3N4 grains in an ・'-Si3N4 matrix [13,14].
A complete crystallisation is, however, generally not obtained even if the chemistry of the starting powder mixture has been carefully designed.

It was because the structure of flavonoids molecules had conjugate effect, the ability of flavonoids chelating iron ions was stronger than that of ascorbic acid.
Reducing power of flavonoids was weaker than that of ascorbic acid because the number of -OH in flavonoids structure is less than that in ascorbic acid.
The contribution of individual flavonoids to antioxidant capacity was generally dependent on their structure and content.

In order to simulate the structure of natrual bone, to control the nano-HA size of nano-HA/polymer composites and enhance the dispersion of nano-HAs in organic matrices becomes one of the keys to design a composite material for biomedical replant applications.
The macroscale exhibited a highly porous structure, consisting of well-developed and open-channeled micropores and interconnected framework.
Within the microporous structure, the nano-HAs were uniformly distributed on the surface of the micropores.

Introduction Y-type hexagonal ferrite with planar magnetic structure have much higher initial permeability, higher factor of quality and higher cut-off frequency in very higher frequency (VHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) regions (300 ~ 800 MHz) [1,2], which make these materials the ideal choice for preparing MLCI.
Y-type hexaferrite was investigated by X-ray diffraction, using Cu Kα radiation to characterize phase structure.

Introduction The hydration exothermic behaviors of concrete have significant influence on the durability of concrete structures, which have drawn more and more attention in engineering practice.
A common measure controlling the temperature rise of concrete is replacement of the cement with the same percentage mineral admixtures such as fly ash, by which the cracking risk of concrete structures caused by thermal stresses will be obviously reduced[1-3].
