Research on Guiding Strategies of VMS and Their Effects Based on Intelligent Materials YuLong Pei1, a, Xue Li2,b 1 School of Transportation Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China 2 School of Transportation Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China ayulongp@263.net, blixue011408@163.com Keywords: Variable Message Signs (VMS); Stated preference (SP) survey; Guiding strategy; Logit model; BP neural network model; Intelligent Materials Abstract: VMS is a typical group-guiding facility of intelligent transport system (ITS) in urban road network.
It has been based on certain intelligent materials.
Based on SP survey, the drivers’ route-choice behavior was compared and analyzed under different guiding strategies of VMS with the development of intelligent materials.
And the achievement should be realized through intelligent materials.
The intelligent materials will also influence the development of VMS system, which will be studied in the future.
