In the EMAS (Engineered Material Arresting System), engineering arresting materials have been developed[3,4,5,6], one main material is foamed concrete.
Foamed concrete studied in this reseach is made and provided by CACAST (China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology), samples of which are cubic blocks with dimensions of 350mm×350mm×350mm.
Fig.2 shows the compression engineering stress-strain curves and corresponding deformation pictures for foamed concrete of 0.20g/ccm density.
In practical engineering applications, shear strength of the foamed concrete is a controversial issue.
