Abstract
In this paper, the effects of Cr content and impact load on the microstructure and properties of High Manganese Steel (HMS) were investigated.
Due to its properties, HMS is accepted as a very popular engineering material.
This steel used chiefly in equipment for handling and processing earthen materials as rock crushers, grinding mills, power-shovel buckets, cane teeth and pumps for handling and in a multitude of classed applications. [1] There are a lot of researches about the effect of elements alloying on microstructures and mechanical properties of Austenitic High Manganese steel.

TaC coating in study was generated through a proprietary high temperature CVD process by Momentive Performance Materials Quartz Inc. with average thickness of 35 µm.
