Introduction With the development of science and technology, and continuously emerging of various new materials, this puts forward great challenges to the conventional mechanical processing method.
Therefore, the non-conventional machining method is emerging for adapting to all kinds of materials such as the harder, stronger, tougher, brittler, partier.
Compared with other conventional mechanical methods, SEAM has the obvious advantages in the process of materials of high hardness, high strength, high toughness and high brittleness, high-purity.
General conductive materials can be processed and the processing efficiency is high (Material removal rate ranges from 0.9 to 1.5kg/min).

The wear rate can be defined in several ways, but basically it is some kind of measurable wear for example crater depth or flank wear which is initiated relative to unit cutting time, cutting length or material removal.
