Diaham et.al [10] studied the thickness effect of the PI thin film on its breakdown strength, and concluded that thicker PI film would result in lower average Vbd due to the increase of defects which could cause the PI film’s failure during experiment.
More recently, Luo et.al [11] investigated the breakdown strength of the PI thin film under different ambient humidity and their finding is that the breakdown field strength decreases linearly with the environment humidity increasing and the maximum Vbd can be reach 250kV/mm at a humidity of 30%.
By applied on PI film’s surface, Li et.al [13] improved Vbd of the PI thin film by applying fluorination treatment on the film surface.
