Experimental methods
The experimental material was 4Cr5MoSiV steel.
The sample was polished progressively by the water sandpaper, then put it in acetone under ultrasonic cleaning the surface, the distilled water is used to clean and dry the test material.

6 show that in the cutting conditions of f=0.1mm/r, ap=0.1mm, workpiece material with hardness in HRC62-64 began generating serrated chip in the cutting speed v=60m/min, Figures 7 show that workpiece material with hardness in HRC50-52 began generating serrated chip in the cutting speed v=140m/min; in the cutting conditions of v=60m/min,ap=0.2mm, Figures 6 show workpiece material with hardness in HRC62-64 began generating serrated chip in the feed of f=0.05mm/r, Figures 7 show that workpiece material with hardness in HRC50-52 began generating serrated chip in the feed of f=0.16mm/r.
