Alkaline metal salt is one of the conventionally employed materials for accelerator, especially the sodium salt and potash salt.

Phosphors are essential materials for the fabrication of the LED lighting devices and their properties significantly affect the performance of the devices.
However, the methods that have been developed for synthesis of the nitride phosphors mostly suffer from either severe synthesis conditions or involving the use of moisture or oxygen sensitive starting materials.
The SHS method, originally developed in the former USSR, has been applied to synthesis of various high-temperature materials including ceramics, intermetallics, and composites.
