Introduction Cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone (also known as KA oil) are important raw materials in chemical industry [1,2], since they are not only used as important reagents in the preparation of caprolactam and adipic acid for the production of nylon-6 and nylon-66, but also used as solvents directly.

Experimental Materials A commercially produced plain-weave silk fabric (thickness 0.15 mm, weight 67 g/m2, fabric count per inch 96 x 80) was scoured with an aqueous nonionic surfactant solution at a temperature of 45°C for 30 minutes, thoroughly rinsed and air dried at room temperature.
Extraction of natural dye from lac The lac dye extraction was performed by mixing the lac material and distilled water in the weight ratio of 1:30 and boiling for 1 hour.
