Abstract: The Z-CAST software was employed to simulate the casting process of gray cast-iron
flywheel.
Introduction Gray cast-iron is an important engineering material, which is widely applied in all industry departments.
The pouring temperature is 1380℃, and the casting mould material is sand.

In this paper, the Fourth Strength Theory is used to check its strength, the maximum stress is 7.4882Mpa, while the allowable stress is 235Mpa when material Q235 is selected.
