While the CS/PLLA-based scaffolds showed the infiltration of trabecular bone and amounts of new tissue forming, but there were still some residual materials in the defect area.
In contrast, the CS/PLLA-based scaffolds showed the infiltration of trabecular bone and amounts of new tissue forming and the implanted materials becoming completely absorbed in some areas.

The global warming impact of the Mg production in China has been estimated close to 42 kg CO2 eq/kg Mg ingot [5], which is related largely to a high input of raw materials and a large volume of the generated solid waste, the Mg slag.
The waste Mg slag with a large volume should be recycled or re-used as constriction materials in order to decrease the global warming impact.
Congyun Huang et al. used Mg slag to replaced 20% limestone in raw materials for burning of Portland cement clinker, reporting a positive effect of the Mg slag on clinkerization [7].
Fluorite, ranging 2-3%, is often mixed in raw materials to catalyze the MgO reduction in Pidgeon process [5, 6].
