Evaluation of the Effect of Crystallization Additives on the Durability of Cement Composites Ámos Dufka1,a, Tomáš Melichar2,b 1,2Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Veveří 331/95, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic adufka.a@fce.vutbr.cz, bmelichar.t@fce.vutbr.cz Keywords: Crystallization, additive, cement, composite, evaluation, durability.
The aforesaid types of additives are therefore used, for example, when designing concrete types to be used in hydraulic engineering, etc.
After the time of the experiment had expired, the following sets of experiments were conducted to determine the effects of the aggressive environment on the SCC modified with the crystallization additive as well as on the SCC without any additive: o The tensile strength of the surface layers of the concrete was determined according to the ČSN 73 1318 standard; o The compressive strength of the concrete was determined according to ČSN EN 12390-3; o Analysis of the microstructure using electron scanning microscope – methodical procedure No. 30-31 by Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering.

The Effect of the Origin and Inner Structure of Limestones on the Burning Process and the Formation of Lime SKLENÁŘOVÁ Dorothea1a*, DVOŘÁK Karel1b 1Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Veveří 331/95, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic asklenarova.d@fce.vutbr.cz, bdvorak.k@fce.vutbr.cz Keywords: Limestone, Lime, Thermal decomposition, Sintering process, Reactivity of lime, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Abstract.
Ranging from the steel production as a slag formation material during the high kiln melting process, in civil engineering as the main compound in concrete construction, mortars, binders and other building materials, neutralization of pollutants as flue ash desulphurization or contaminated soil treatment, in agriculture as acidity level stabilizer or nutrient for livestock [2].
For a lime production for the civil engineering industry, the thermal decomposition process releases up to 50% of mass in CO2, with combustion of fossil fuels and other materials as a heat source, the use of heavy machinery in the obtaining and processing of the raw material and its treatment adds up.
