These standards do not seem to apply in
tropical climate where wall thick nesses are comparatively smaller (between 100 and 230 mm), and
are usually of less dense materials.
Types and Sources of Data The study relied on two types of data, namely: i) Primary data physically obtained from the model buildings (comfort factors); ii) secondary data such as thermal comfort indices, insulating properties of materials, etc, obtained from design manuals, charts, standards, etc.
This goes to confirm the widely held view that materials with low heat capacity minimize heat storage in building envelop.

Measurement Principle
Based on the Lambert's absorption law, for intrinsic semiconductor material GaAs, its absorption
characteristics can be described as
[ ]xRIxI )(exp)1(),( 0 θα
θ −−= , (1)
where 0I is the incident intensity, x is the thickness of semiconductor absorption material, R is the
reflection factor of semiconductor material at the incident plane, θ is the temperature and )(θα is the
absorption coefficient at the temperature θ.

In this context, the paper defines an approach to analyse the relationships between different innovation categories (materials, function, etc.) and the relative environmental impacts (energy and water consumption, CO2 emission, etc.), during the product lifecycle.
Function, material, process, shape, and electronics are the most common classes used to model a product.
The results relative to three different solutions (Hygroscopic material, Foam glass, Photovoltaic) are shown in the Fig. 1.
The analysis of such a matrix, for example, allowed the company to evaluate the great environmental advantages provided by the use of the hygroscopic materials for the dishwasher.

Introduction
The main existent techniques for repair and strengthen reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joints can be grouped as follows: repair with epoxy (injection of epoxy resin in the cracks of lightly degraded elements); removal and replacement of concrete in more damaged areas; jacketing with RC layers, masonry blocks or steel plates; use of composite materials.
The main characteristics of these materials can be found elsewhere [2].
