Cement concrete has been extensively used in construction and road building because of its high availability of raw materials, convenient processing and low cost of production.
Based on this phenomenon, for the commonly used air-entraining agent types in china, a systematic research is needed to better understand the effects of air-entraining agent varieties and water-cement ratio on air void features and performance of hardened concrete, which is of great importance for promoting the application of air-entraining agents in concrete structures of road engineering and guiding a better design of air-entrained concrete.
A detailed description of the materials and experimental programs used in this study is presented in the following sections.
