Strain-life and stress-life curves of steel materials under torsional load
LCF versus HCF.
The materials in the tests are supposed to have a low fatigue life.
This kind of fatigue is called low-cycle fatigue (LCF) because of the low fatigue life of the materials.
The fatigue life of the materials can be longer.

Core materials can be characterised by homogeneous and inhomogeneous materials with isotropic and anisotropic properties, e.g. foams, combs or wavelike sheets [1].
This standard is especially used for sandwich materials.

In the literature, some studies apply the impulse excitation technique to characterize the elastic properties of isotropic materials [7], although the ASTM E1876-21 standard also applies it to anisotropic materials [6].
Halpin-Tsai materials may be transversely isotropic, orthotropic, or isotropic, depending on the geometry of the material reinforcing the matrix [10].
