Introduction
Ships motion performance not only effect on the marine operation safety of this ‘Hai Yang Shi You 201’ deep water pipe-laying vessel, but also have a significant impact on the pipe-laying operational efficiency.
Take ‘Hai Yang Shi You 201’ as instance, the main parameters is shown in table 1.
That is to say, when wave length is infinite long, this ‘Hai Yang Shi You 201’ will follow the water particles movement, and when the wave length is near 0, this ship will have no motion respond, this results also fit the general law.
Conclusions Based on 3-D potential flow theory, this paper calculates the additional mas, damp coefficient and ship motion response of ’Hai Yang Shi You 201’on the regular wave condition.
