Materials
The metal sheet used in the process was C67S steel with a nominal thickness of 2.2mm.The dies material used in the experiments was the cold working tool steel S390 and the tested coating is a multilayer Ti-DLC, deposited on the surface of a flat sample by PVD magnetron spattering technique.
The material properties of the pin and the flat die are the same of the industrial dies reported in Table 1.

The shapes of workpieces that can be formed by this method range from small to large sizes depending on industry demand, and a variety of sizes and materials can be specified.
Next, the thermal properties of the cast iron material were defined and boundary conditions like initial temperatures, heat transfer coefficients, cooling conditions etc. were specified.
The research thus demonstrates the value of numerical simulation in transforming the casting process from an art to a science.[3] By another interesting research and related to casting work. and the simulation .
