Initial test
Furnace burden and alloy.
Alloys are comprised of Calballoy, Si-Ca-Ba, ferromanganese, ferrosilicon and SiC, among which 75 ferrosilicon is charged into the electric furnace before slagging off while Calballoy and Si-Ca-Ba are added in casting ladle.
Ferromanganese and ferrosilicon are charged after slagging off in the furnace and before the iron is melted, with the aims of increasing the amount of manganese in melted iron, initial inoculation, hardness of the materials and graphite form.
According to the results of primary testing, tests of non-increasing S and increasing S on the basis of compound inoculation are contrasted.

Small additions of zirconium can often improve the properties of high strength aluminum alloys by forming metastable, coherent Al3Zr dispersoids, which have a strong influence on recrystallization, grain size and mechanical properties of wrought aluminum alloys [5-7].

Flame spraying is widely used to apply coatings in the manufacture or reconditioning of a variety of
machine parts (drive shaft journals in marine shafting, crank shaft main journals, pump rotors and
casings, valve inserts and internal combustion engine cylinders, ship propellers and turbine rotor
journals) [1, 3].
The paper aims for the preliminary analysis of the possibility for replacement of the traditional finishing methods, through machining, of the investigated coatings by surface plastic working.
Volume concentration of non-metallic compound, Al2O3 , in the obtained coatings was: 0, 15, and 30 %.
Flame-sprayed alloy coatings were characterised by greatly developed actual surface.

It should be noted that this alloy can also be attributed to low-alloy aluminum alloys, but with a different composition of alloying elements compared to AD1 alloy and a higher level of alloying by basic elements (about 1 % in AB alloy, compared to less than 0.1 % in AD1 alloy).

Zirconium and silicon compounds are of particular interest in the formation of coatings based on titanium and aluminum substrates.
Coatings produced on the basis of these compounds make it possible to improve thermal characteristics of products.
Technological spraying modes, primarily temperature, determine the processes of phase transformations with the formation of zirconium and silicon oxides compounds [12].
It has been proven that coatings based on zirconium and silicon compounds retain their functional properties at high temperatures [13].
