A new comprehensive evaluation method for grindability of ceramic materials is advanced.
Seven typical engineering ceramic materials are analyzed using the method, the objective and comprehensive results are gained.
In this paper, an algorithm for interval gray principal component analysis that applied to evaluate grindability of ceramic material is advanced.
Conclusions The interval gray principal component analysis method is advanced to evaluate the grindability of ceramic materials; the grindability ranking is based on mechanical properties of the ceramic materials.

Introduction
Grade students in Mechanical Engineering must acquire skills in the field of manufacturing engineering.
The motivation of students has been very high, and they have explored and deepened on the use of advanced tools based on FEM.
Further, in future studies, activities of research could be designed, using advanced simulation tools.
Assessing the Acquisition of Generic Skills in Open Postgraduate Studies in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 23 (2013) 412–418
