The increasing use of new materials with varying thicknesses within the automotive industry creates high demands on joining elements such as staking fasteners.
The simulation based on the non-linear Finite-element-Method (FEM) is a frequently used method within the field of computer sciences and engineering and has a high potential as an alternative verification and development method.
The material properties are shown in Table 1.
With it the quality of new geometry variants or materials could be determined without the need for cost extensive and time extensive experimental investigations.
