Some researchers have started the theoretical [12] and experimental [13] work to investigate the local EM field enhancement in associated structure of the aggregated NPs that produces the SERS signal.
The absence of other peaks indicates a high purity of the silver with face-centered crystal (fcc) structure.
A typical transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image of the Ag NPs (Fig 2a) and its corresponding high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) image (Fig 2b) further reveal that Ag NPs uniformly disperse in the field of vision and lattice spacing can be measured with a value of d = 0.236 nm, which corresponds to the (111) plane of metallic Ag with a fcc structure.

In the design of thin solar cells, we have to introduce a thin buffer layer such as CdS or ZnS in the structure to reduce probability of recombination of electron hole pair to offer a stable electric output.
