Nonlinear characteristic hinder the effective use of piezoelectric smart materials in sensors and actuators.
Introduction Ionic polymer-metal composite (IPMC) as a piezoelectric smart materials is discovered by Oguro and his co-workers [1].
However Like other smart materials (e.g., such as magnetic materials, magnetostrictives, piezoceramics, and Shape Memory Alloys etc), IPMC as a sort of piezoelectric actuator has the disadvantage of nonlinear behaviors.

Even though with the same compositions, the materials would have different characteristics.
The cathode binder helps to join two different materials to stick together.
Analytical grade of La(NO3)3.6H2O, Sr(NO3)2 and Co(NO3)3.6H2O were used as starting materials.
Furthermore, the produced materials will show different chemical properties or compatibility with different electrolyte materials.
