The resultant increase in outlays for processing, as well as for materials, raises issues in holding down costs.
To examine a wide variety of potential drilling situations, the drill bit materials were conventional cemented carbide tool alloys, diamond coated cemented carbide tool alloys, and polycrystalline diamond (PCD).
A new tool material, TiB2 ceramics, was also tested.

Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam is widely cultivated as a southern tree species; its wood material characteristics research is practically significant.
Materials and Methods The wood Materials Experimental wood material was collected in November 2008 in the West Campus of Guangxi university from a tree identified as Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam wood (age 11 years) by professor XuFeng working in forestry College of Guangxi University.
The residual material was cooled and filtered and washed 3 times with distilled water.

The materials are the key factor for the manufacture efficiency, quality, cost and its longevity.
It realizes the selection of HSM cutters, which is including the selection to HSM cutting tool shanks, tool-chucks, and the cutters materials.
There are multifarious usual work pieces' and cutters' materials information (grade, composition, and properties) in the system's database.
We compiled information from more than 50 kinds of cutting tools for HSM, including cutting tool materials, trademark, processing conditions, and the condition of work pieces.

It is not clear what value of coefficient of friction, µ, should be used in SPF models, since there are no published values for frictional contact between Ti-6Al-4V alloy and typical tool materials, under SPF conditions.
However, as the authors are unaware of previously published friction data between Ti-6Al-4V and SPF tool materials, the present approach does provide initial guidance on friction data for process modelling.
