Introduction Iron-based powder metallurgical composites reinforced with hard ceramic particulates are a new class of advanced materials proposed mainly as wear-resistant parts.
Herein, the life model of ceramic tool is similar to machining ordinary monolithic materials.

If the materials developed reasonably, abundant raw materials and fertilizers would be provided for the development of bio-energy and circular agriculture, and that will have a wide prospect for development.

It is surmised from Eqs. (4)-(5) that the material removal rate depends only on r if parameters L, W, W1, and p are kept constant, indicating that the material removal is different at different working points.
It is obvious that the parameter W would affect the uniformity of material removal, (W), strongly in some ranges of W.
The results indicated that although as the parameter W increases the material removal increases monotonously, the parameter W should be setup at a range of 0.9-6 for improving the uniformity of material removal.

By the way, the tensile strength of Nickel-plating CNTs reinforced composite is higher than the CNTs reinforced composite's, which shows that the plating CNTs can strengthen the composite materials obviously.
This also can infer that the dispersion and the binding between the CNTs and the matrix are the key factors to strengthen the composite materials.

Introduction Glass-ceramics are polycrystalline materials containing residual glassy phase, obtained from glasses subjected to controlled crystallization. [1, 2] This definition is related to the glass-ceramic materials obtained through glass technology (melting).
Materials and experimental procedures A batch of glass composition 9.56Li2O.22.36ZrO2.68.08SiO2 (wt.%) was prepared from commercially available raw materials (Li2CO3, ZrSiO4 and quartz).The batch to produce 2 kg of glass was introduced into a Pt crucible and melted at 1550 ± 5°C in an electric furnace for 7 h.
In fact, according to Strnad (1986) [2] glass-ceramic materials have bending strength between 70 and 320 MPa while high alumina ceramics between 212 and 353 MPa.
