Faultiness such as the crack of axle box rotary arm, looseness and oil leak of journal hydraulic damper, different extent of invalidation of air spring and serious oil leaks of lateral hydraulic damper give severe threat to the safe of railway cars.
However, the rain flow counting, which simultaneously calculates the load amplitude and mean load, has several advantages as follows: ① it is easily to be accepted that there is a link between statistical analysis on load and fatigue properties of materials; ② the two- parameter counting method not only acquires the trend statistics but also avoids loss of small alternating signals; ③ each part of load time spectrum is calculated once;④ it is convenient to accomplish computer processing and automation of data handling.
