In fact the local yield of the material does not represent the overall damage of the tower, furthermore, the damage of the structure is not necessarily occurred in the frame member that the material yields, the methods in [7] are over conservative.
In the analysis in this paper ANSYS Finite Element (FE) software is used to set up a hybrid model by beam and link element[12,26],and BEAM188 element is used to simulate the main angle and crossing tilted materials, the unit has the capability to pull, press, bend, cut, and twist, being able to conduct large deformation analysis, achieve unilateral constraint of end node, and also being able to make the direction of the angle steel in the model fully in accordance with the actual structure, so that reducing the calculation error to the maximum extent; Taking the contribution of auxiliary materials to the whole structure into consideration beam element, LINK 180, is used to simulate when modeling, and only the pull and press capabilities are considered; For the bind bolts between crossing tilted materials node coupling mode is adopted to make the linear displacements in X, Y, Z directions being fully identical, but rotation constraint is not taken into consideration.
(2)Complex displacement conditions In complex displacement conditions comparing normal service condition (NORZLA) with abnormal service condition (NORZYA), the damage forms are similar basically, both are characterized by the instability of crossing tilted materials, and the positions of the unstable frame members are basically same.
