While extensive studies [4-6] can be found in literature about
material characterization, few data are instead available on material formability [7-9].
Material The material employed in the testing is the boron-alloyes steel 22MnB5 (commercially known as Usibor 1500™), provided in sheets of 1.5 mm (DIMEG) and 1.75 mm (LFT) thickness.

In recent years, with emerging new technologies and new materials, technology and equipment for executing vacuum preloading technique have been greatly improved, providing fundamental conditions for the research and development of the underwater vacuum preloading technology to improve soft soils in tidal zones.
Dredging, pile driving building of cast-in-situ piles and placing of fill materials were carried out simultaneously with the implementation of underwater vacuum preloading and the stability of the slopes was ensured. .

Here, clinching as a cold forming joining process offers several advantages such as no use of filler materials and lower energy input compared to thermal processes.
Hence, the so-called “clinchability” has to be addressed with regard to materials [4], design [5], and manufacturing [6].
Mucha [7] shows which interactions exist between process parameters and the geometrical parameters of the clinch joints by using steel sheet materials.
