The Progress of Amorphous Si-B-C-N Composite Ceramics

Abstract: This article reviews the synthesis of Si-B-C-N ceramics, and the characteristics and principle of fabricating Si-B-C-N ceramics by using different precursors.
The investigation on amorphous Si-B-C-N ceramics not only can help people to further understand the material thermodynamics and kinetics of the material crystallization, atomic diffusion, and phase equilibrium, but also make a certain contribution to the control of the material structure and the further optimization of high-temperature performance.
The researches indicate that the ceramic materials prepared using organic precursor as raw materials has many advantages, such as even composition, stable non-crystalline structure, high-temperature stability, high temperature oxidation resistance and creep resistance and so on.

Wherein the magnitude of zeta potential augments with the increase of calcium deficiency in the CDHA structure.
According to the EDX spectra, calcium, phosphorus, oxygen and carbon creating carbonated hydroxyapatite structure were detected in the sample C162 (Fig. 2b, 2d ).
The specific bands of phosphate groups (PO43−) characteristic to hydroxyapatite structure were observed at 589, 646, 962, and 1000 –1160 cm−1.
The CO23- groups, that can substitute both PO43- and OH- ions in the HA structure appeared as 1479, 1416, and 875 cm-1 wave numbers.

Being compared with the JCPDS standard card, the diffraction peaks of CaYW:5mol% Sm3+ at 1100 ºC are consistent with JCPDS 38-0218, which indicates that the obtained samples have the tetragonal structures.
The structures of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction.

This kind of aluminum nitride whiskers possess smooth surface, uniform length, straight whisker, and a long cylindrical structure with a diameter of 4-6 μm and a length diameter ratio of 40-100.
