For solving the above problem, a method which use FRP sheets confinement combined with transverse short glass FRP bars in bored holes has been proposed and testified to be effective to use for shear strengthening of rectangular RC columns by Wu et al [9-10], and just based on this, the author has put forward an active retrofitting method of combining wrapped FRP sheet with clamping plates and it has been demonstrated to be more effective to resolve the ineffectiveness of rectilinear FRP sheets [11].
