Hence, a further study on the solid-state chemistry of heteropolytungstates-modified zirconia materials is still worthy of pursuit.
Recently, our studies on HPAs-modified zirconia materials have shown some results that would be helpful for a better understanding of the solid-state chemistry of these materials.
The split bands corresponding to P−O (at 1090 and 1054 cm-1) and Mo=Od (980, 976 and 955 cm-1) vibrations suggest the destruction of Keggin-anions of MPA and a wide dispersion in both type and structure of the new molybdenum species.

All samples exhibit three well-resolved diffraction peaks that can be indexed as the (100), (110), (200) diffractions associated with p6mm hexagonal symmetry, confirming that these samples have highly ordered mesoporous structure just like SBA-15 [1].
Dehydration of alcohols to alkenes is a well-known and important reaction in organic chemistry, whose products are usual raw materials or intermediates for pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals [18].
