This edition contains selected papers presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Materials Science and Engineering, which was held in Paris from 15 to 17 July 2015. This conference is organized by academics and researchers belonging to different scientific areas of the C3i/Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (Portugal) and the University of Extremadura (Spain) with the technical support of ScienceKnow Conferences.
The event has the objective of creating an international forum for academics, researchers and scientists from worldwide to discuss worldwide results and proposals regarding to the soundest issues related to modern materials and processing technologies.
The present collection of papers from 12th International Conference „Local Mechanical Properties“ which was held on November 04.- 06.2015 in Liberec, Czech Republic presents current publications of conference participants from several countries .
Besides the traditional research in area of mechanical properties of different metallic materials, composites, polymers was focused attention also on research of thin layers and nanomaterials. The significant potential of application of these new materials significantly affects on research activities of academia. Future application of innovative materials in different areas of human activities, already requires from researchers the definition of materials properties on atomic level. Conference by its content contributed to the deepening of knowledge about the internal structure of various materials, their mechanical and tribological properties.
Presented collection is covering the wide spectrum of engineering decisions in area of creating and research of modern functional materials and technologies and it will be useful for researchers and practical engineers.
The 26 papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: Metals and Alloys, Processing Technology;
Chapter 2: Nano- and Microscale Materials;
Chapter 3: Materials and Technologies in Biomedicine;
Chapter 4: Industrial Tribology;
Chapter 5: Special and Functional Materials in Machinery;
Chapter 6: Materials and Technologies in Chemical Engineering.
