The book aims to exchange and share a number of experts and scholars’s experiences and research results about all aspects of polymer processing and modification technology; modern mold technology; rapid prototyping technology, automobiles, home appliances, electronic and aviation materials processing; materials processing simulation technology; molding equipment and process data acquisition and monitoring and other areas of new concepts. The book further enhance the interrelationships between realms of processing equipment, molding technology, mold design, mold manufacture and materials modification, to raise the application level for polymer and composite material in technologies such as cash manufacturing.

There are continuous demands for high performance materials with enhanced properties. In the development of these materials and their processing methods, physical and numerical simulations have important roles to play. By using best current knowledge and modern facilities, these simulation techniques can enable the rapid and economic evaluation and prediction of high temperature processes and applications. The issue summarizes 22 selected papers of the XII international conference Baltic Polymer Symposium 2012, held in Liepaja, Latvia, from 19-22 of September, 2012. Since 2001 the event is annually organized by technical universities of the three Baltic States. Baltic Polymer Symposium 2012 in Liepāja was visited by participants not only from the three Baltic States, but also by participants from Taiwan, Germany, Finland, United Kingdom, Poland, Ukraine and Russia. The scope of the proceedings comprises all aspects of modern polymers science: synthesis, processing, recycling, composites, nanotechnologies etc.
