This issue of the journal accommodates articles that described the last research results in applied biomaterials, technologies of green synthesis of nanoparticles for cancer treatment and antibacterial application in biomedical practice, a systematic review of lung cancer biomarkers, materials for dental implants, and applied sport biomechanics.
Topics of presented papers presented: nanomaterials in pharmaceutics and medicine, nanomaterials in agriculture and ecology, bio-nanotechnologies, nanotoxicology and nano safety. In the volume presented the selected peer-reviewed full text papers from the 4th International Research and Practical Conference Nanomaterials and Living Systems NLS-2016 which was hold on June 2- 3, 2016 at NUST MISiS, Moscow, Russia.
The papers presented and reviewed in this volume are cover up-to-date fundamental research, innovative top-down and bottom-up methods and technologies towards the development of nanodevices. The effort to share and churned new knowledge in this field are geared towards enhancement and efficient energy conversion, conservation of natural resources, reduction of pollution and overall improvement in quality of life.
This volume presents selected peer-reviewed papers related to diverse aspects of mechanics and materials. Cases related to the flow of fluids under various conditions, as well as heat transfer, are analyzed. There are also contributions, to the field of the design of mechanisms, which focus on biomechanics and the synthesis of mechanisms. Papers on mechanical vibration are linked to the design of machine tools, rotodynamics and vibrations in microbeams. Also, the evaluation of residual stresses and the estimation of the mechanical properties of vegetal materials are treated. Finally, fractal analysis is applied to solar radiation, and to the materials used in nanomedicine.
