The presented volume reflects the last research results and engineering solutions in materials and technologies in mechanical engineering and construction, modern nanomaterials, and applied nanotechnologies. The short reports on the research papers were presented at the 5th International Conference on Sensors, Materials and Manufacturing (ICSMM 2021) and 2021 9th International Conference on Nanomaterials and Materials Engineering (ICNME 2021).

This volume contains the full-length versions of plenary lectures and oral presentations presented at the Broad Exposure to Science and Technology (BEST 2021) conference, held by the Engineering Faculty of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia, virtually on August 31, 2021.
