Books
Edited by:
Prof. Rafael Ferragut, Dr. Javier Schmidt and Prof. Bernardo Barbiellini
Online since: July 2025
Description: Following a standing tradition that began in 1987 in Germany, The International Workshop on Positron Studies of Defects (PSD-24) was held in the Sala Bianca of the Teatro Sociale di Como, Italy, from September 1 to 6, 2024.The workshop aimed to provide a platform for the exchange of the latest scientific results and developments concerning positron interactions with solids and surfaces, the applied techniques, and their diverse applications. An intensive two-day Summer School in honour of Alfredo Dupasquier was held at the Brunate Library on August 31st and September 1st, prior to the PSD-24. The School featured lectures delivered by leading international experts in Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (PAS).

Online since: November 2012
Description: These proceedings, comprising 66 peer-review papers, are divided into 10 chapters covering: fundamental aspects (of positron and positronium chemistry), membranes, molecular systems, confined systems, liquids, polymers, porous systems, non-metallic materials, nuclear materials, experimental techniques. This work owes a lot to the authors’ commitment to positron and positronium chemistry and related subjects.

Online since: September 2012

This work reflects the wide and fascinating range of fields to which positrons have made important contributions. This covers, in particular, the development of low-energy (eV-keV) beams of essentially mono-energetic positrons, in the late 1960s, which opened the door to an even wider range of fundamental and technological studies: from surface physics to polymer films. In her introduction Professor Ganguly offers some background knowledge on the extent to which positrons have influenced and contributed to work in numerous fields.
