It comprises 170 peer-reviewed papers selected (for particular quality and relevance) from the over 300 originally submitted by universities and industrial concerns all over the world. The contents cover the topics of materials science and technology, building materials, nanoscience and nanotechnology, and micro/nano electro-mechanical systems. This book will thus provide readers with a broad overview of the latest advances in the field of materials science and nanotechnology and constitute a valuable reference work for researchers in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology.
The volume covers a wide range of materials research and maintains a good balance of theoretical and applied work. In keeping with the present trend the number of papers in Nanomaterials in the highest with a good number in Electronic Materials and Energy Storage Materials. Reflecting the varied interests of the Department there are quality papers on Metallurgical themes such as Metal Casting, Mechanical Processing and Materials Joining.
The Baltic International Conferences on Materials Engineering and Tribology were initiated 19 years ago and focus on materials issues and tribological studies. During this period, BALTMATTRIB has become an open forum where researchers and engineers can exchange ideas, share thoughts and encourage development and cooperation in both basic and applied research in the fields of materials science, powder metallurgy, surface engineering and tribology.
