Books
The main topics covered in this book are nanocomposites and bioceramics, materials used in the electronic industry, building materials, materials strength and structural integrity research, and mechanical engineering research. This book will be helpful to many specialists in machinery. The edition includes research results presented at the 7th International Conference on Applied Engineering, Materials and Mechanics (7th ICAEMM 2022) held in Jeju Island, South Korea, on May 27-29, 2022.
The 115 papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: Behavior and Characterization of Materials,
Chapter 2: Material Processing,
Chapter 3: Heat Treatment of Metals,
Chapter 4: Concrete, Rock, Civil Engineering,
Chapter 5: Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer,
Chapter 6: Strength of Materials, Accidents, Corrosion,
Chapter 7: Films, Surface Analysis, FPGA and ROM,
Chapter 8: Machine Parts and Mechanisms of Technological Equipment, Control and Automation,
Chapter 9: Sensors and Measurement.
The aim of this book is to develop, in the reader, the necessary skills required for designing materials, components and structures so as to resist fracture and failure in engineering applications. In order to achieve this objective, the authors have adopted a combined materials science-fracture mechanics-design approach. Although the material covered is designed for an advanced undergraduate course in metallurgy/materials engineering, students coming from mechanical, civil or aerospace engineering backgrounds will also be able to use this text as a course/reference book. In addition to students, practising engineers and production mangers will also find this book very useful; particular with regard to designing components and machine elements so as to resist fracture and failure in critical applications.
