Description: This publication brings together the collective knowledge and shared aspirations of two remarkable gatherings: the 10th International Conference on Architecture, Materials, and Construction (ICAMC 2024) and the 5th International Conference on Building Science, Technology, and Sustainability (ICBSTS 2024). Hosted at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, from October 15 to 18, 2024, these events created a space for exchange among global scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and students, all dedicated to advancing sustainable and resilient building practices. For this edition, the papers reflecting rigorous research and pioneering work across architecture, materials science, construction technology, and sustainability were selected. Each contribution provides insight into critical advancements and reflects a shared commitment to addressing the complexities of our built environment.

Online since: October 2013
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The aim of the special collection was to bring together the expertise of scientist and engineers from universities and industry in the field of Structural Health Monitoring, Non‐Destructive Evaluation, and Condition Monitoring. The study of damage detection, localization and assessment are important in the rapidly growing field of SHM. Due to interdisciplinary character of SHM systems, the contributions come from experts from area of mechanics, materials engineering, electronics, software engineering, and signal processing as well as system users from civil engineering, aviation, power plants, wind turbines, chemical plants, petrochemical plants and railways sectors. A significant part is dedicated to utilization of advanced measurement techniques, signal processing, and computation methods.

Description: Damage assessment of structures is an emerging field and has become increasingly important over the past decade or two. Diagnosis and prognosis of structural damage plays an important role not just in ensuring the structural integrity but also in optimizing the overall life cycle cost including the cost for operation and maintenance.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The Special collection consists of a compilation 159 papers on all research topics relevant to damage assessment of engineering structures and systems including numerical simulations, signal processing of sensor measurements, theoretical and experimental studies. Broad areas of damage assessment covered in the publication include applications to composite materials, civil infrastructure, mechanical devices and machineries, renewable energy, sensors, signal processing, structural health and condition monitoring.
