Electroceramics have long furthered the development of electronics, and underpin modern-day high-technology. The development of electroceramics in Japan has been especially marked: many new electroceramics such as ferrites, varistors and sensors, as well as superior manufacturing technologies have been the result.

Description: Some new aspects of the physics and chemistry of oxides are considered in this book. Typical examples are the non-stoichiometry of oxides and the structure and physical properties of High-Tc Superconductors. In both cases, some very new aspects of these domains are treated, and phase transitions are accorded their full importance in understanding so many of the physical properties of oxides.

Description: The relative importance of oxides in the field of materials is increasing every year, all over the world. The new or renewed basic and technological interest of ferroelectrics, ferroelastics, piezoelectrics, modulated structures and high-Tc superconductors provides excellent and well-know examples for the growing attention attracted by this class of materials. Most of the properties of these compounds are related to a phase transition phenomenon, so that phase transitions in oxides are today of the largest interest.

Online since: January 1992
Description: There has been a great upsurge in recent years in the area of high Tc superconductors. Although there are numerous books and monographs related largely to their physics and chemistry, scattered informations are available on their processing aspects.
Edited by: J. Nowotny
Online since: January 1992
Description: The purpose of the present volume is to address several selected issues in relation to the preparation and properties of ceramic materials for electronics and to present a survey of the progress of the most important areas in this field.
