This edition presented to your attention highlights the latest research results in the field of synthesis of materials and the study of their properties. The features of the synthesis are considered, and the properties of metal-organic frameworks, multifunctional nanocomposites, oxide nanostructures in electronics and optoelectronics, drug delivery systems in the treatment of oncological diseases and biocompatible coatings for implantology, as well as composites with a titanium matrix and the protective properties of a special cladding of structural steels and alloys, are studied. This edition will be helpful to a wide range of specialists in modern materials science.
This journal volume contains articles describing the last research results in biomaterials from polymers to titanium alloy for applications in orthopaedics and dental prosthetics, materials and technologies in pharmaceutics. There are also articles on numerical and experimental evaluation of biomechanical behaviour of a single implant and leveraging deep learning techniques in automatic segmentation of white blood cell images.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The papers were selected by reviewing the full papers of authors whose abstracts submitted to the Symposium were accepted after a blind peer-reviewing process, and reflected the most recent progress made in the study of bioceramics and their applications in medicine. The papers are focused not just on synthesis, processing and characterization of bioceramics, but also on surface modification, tissue engineering, nanomaterials and drug delivery. Which means that bioceramics are facing advanced towards the regeneration of the tissue by biomimetic design of structure and integration of biological function to optimize the tissue response. The strong contribution related to the application of bioceramics and composite materials in dentistry and orthopedics presented in this book confirm the importance of these materials for clinical practice in medical units.
