12th INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS CONGRESS PART I

Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: The proceedings of the conference are being published in 10 volumes, of which this is the ninth, designated "I." The keynote address for the symposium documented is by Michel Rigaud (Campus U. of Montreal) on The Federation for International Refractories Research and Education: progress and outcome on education, research, and industrial partnership. The other 26 papers cover raw materials; testing; manufacturing, selection, design, and use; and system modeling, simulation, and selection criteria. Among the topics are exploiting ceramic wastes by recycling alumina-mullite refractories, thermal shock behavior of zircon-based refractories, analyzing and interpreting microstructure after liquid oxide corrosion, and a new generation of refractories to enable gasifier fuel flexibility.
