Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: One hundred twenty-four papers from the October 2010 conference present recent research on the design, fabrication, and characterization of polymer materials for industrial applications in China. Editor Wang (Qingdao U. of Science and Technology) co-authored 15 of the papers, describing the preparation and properties of rubber/clay, TDI-montmorillonoite, and polyester short fiber/rubber composites, and the effect of rotor speed on rubber mixing processes. Four papers from Beijing University of Chemical Technology investigate the dispersion of multi-walled carbon nanotubes in epoxy resin, electrospinning in a parallel electrical field, and the performance of radial tires. Other topics include an antibacterial cotton fabric with patchouli microcapsules, a biodegradable packaging, the cooling time of gas-assisted injection molding, and optimization of sequential injection molding for car interior trim panels.
