Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView:
Presenting current research by engineers from 21 different countries, the papers of this proceedings were first presented at the Sixth International Conference on Fracture and Damage Mechanics, held in July 2007 in Madeira, Portugal. Topics include fatigue, failure analysis, corrosion, creep, nonlinear problems, dynamic failure, residual stress, among others, with many papers also included on modeling. Individual paper topics include cyclic plastic response and fatigue life, rim stress analysis of thin-rimmed gear, gearbox failure detection, crack propagation behavior of asphalt under uniaxial compression, and optimized steel truss design to resist lateral loads. The papers are not grouped according to topic, but author and keyword indexes are provided.
