Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: Two volumes contain the proceedings of SCEMP 2011 (the International Symposium on Chemical Engineering and Material Properties), held November 2011, in Liaoning, China). The symposium was the first conference dedicated to this topic. Roughly 300 highly technical papers are presented, in what appears to be random order (except for division according to the two broad themes of chemical engineering and material properties; but a keyword index and an author list offer some navigational tools. A sampling of topics: surface characteristics of single sisal fiber and interfacial adhesion of composites, optimization of process parameters of hot-dip aluminized coating, preparation of flame retardant asphalt for tunnels, purification and removal of iron from alloy anode, and the influence of pH on the morphology and luminescence properties of Europium-doped hyroxyapatite nanoparticles.
